Sage Advice Cocktail

John was inspired by Rach's use of sage in a recipe to mix up this cocktail that's a riff on one from an old friend.

Try pairing this cocktail with the meal behind the inspiration:

Rach's Pork Chops with Maple, Mustard & Capers

Brown Butter Sage Garlicky Mashed Potatoes & Parsnips

Raw Mushroom & Escarole Salad

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 slices seedless cucumber

  • 5 to 7 fresh sage leaves, plus 1 for garnish

  • 2½ ounces vodka

  • 1 ounce lime juice

  • 1 ounce simple syrup

Preparation

Muddle cucumber, then sage at the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add the vodka, lime juice, simple syrup and ice, then shake vigorously and double-strain into a chilled martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a sage leaf.

Always drink responsibly.
